Personal Statement

Shaikh Mohir Uddin was born in Khulna, Bangladesh, and started photography in 1994 after a brief stint as a fine arts practitioner. As a freelancer, his main areas of interest lie in human portraits, as well as culture and landscapes. Mohir is now a contributing photographer of Drik Picture Library Ltd. In 2005, Mohir won the Grand Prize in Capture It 2005, a photography and video contest organised by Rothmans, BAT Bangladesh. He also won first prize for his photograph in the Historical Sites Of Bangladesh competition and exhibition organised by Maati Imaging Bangladesh in 2007.Best Photographer Awarded in 1st Tourism Photography Exhibition 4-5 July 2008 , organised by Bangladesh Pargatan corporation.
