The 8th International Tattoo Convention at the Tobacco Dock in London's East End closes. The convention saw tattoo artists and aficionados arrive from all corners of the globe. The event was very well attended for the three days.

High winds whipped up the sea bringing regular heavy rain showers to the South Coast of the UK. The Meteorological Office had predicted gusts of up to 48mph during the afternoon before calming slightly overnight.

Three workmen rescue a BMW that has become trapped in the notorious Ford, known as Buttsbury Wash. They had to wade into the freezing water to attatch ropes to a dumper truck to pull it out.
