Personal Statement

I have been very involved with documenting the recent Occupy Wall Street protest in NYC. Photos from My Occupy Wall Street series have appeared in USA Today, Time.com, NPR.com, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian among others.

My personal work focuses on the varied religious life of the immigrant population in Brooklyn and New York City. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, the Village Voice, Time magazine and the Christian Science Monitor have published my photo stories about religion.

The Caribbean Studies Press published my Vodou work as a book entitled: Vodou Brooklyn: Five Ceremonies with Mambo Marie Carmel.
