Rachel Buehler, a defender on the London 2012 Olympic gold medal winning U.S. Women’s national soccer team, visited San Diego Surf Soccer Club, where she played as a girl. Buehler signed autographs, posed for pictures and answered questions.

The Shockey fire burned over 2,800 acres in eastern San Diego County. Eleven homes, 14 outbuildings and 11 vehicles were destroyed and a further two homes were damaged by the blaze, which injured two firefighters and killed one resident.
